TANGHETTO is one of the most successful tango bands in Argentina. In their music, the new tango from Buenos Aires fuses with electronic music.
TANGHETTO, founded in 2001 by Max Masri and Diego S. Velázquez, belong to the most renowned representatives of Neotango, they call it Tango Cosmopolitano, and are at the top of today’s tango development.
Innovative sound, a mix of modern and traditional tango, electronic elements with jazz and pop influences: this is how the music of this formation of five musicians is best characterized.
The name TANGHETTO, composed of “tango” and “ghetto”, recalls the small groups of Argentinians who migrated abroad for political and economic reasons. It is in this environment that their music developed. Their exuberant concerts rely on electronic samplers, well-known tango cover versions and multimedia shows. But TANGHETTO also play their own compositions. In 2005, TANGHETTO was awarded the gold record, two years later, in 2007, the platinum record. The band has been nominated twice for the Latin Grammy Award. In 2009, TANGHETTO won the Argentine Music Prize Carlos Gardel for the best electrotango album for their album “El miedo a la Libertad”.

From 21.45 TANGHETTO will play for dancing, around 23.00 DJ Fausto Carpino will take over. Before midnight, Marcelo Varela & Analia Vega and Joachim Dietiker & Michelle Marsidi will treat us to their dancing.
